Chapter 46 (Bulletin Board)

[Celebratory Exploration Stream] Tooru–Tia Thread 03 [Thanks to M’lady Kujou]

202 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

That was a really satisfying stream.
Personally, Tooru-bro is exactly my kind of explorer.

203 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

He’s got that bottom-tier mindset and a foul mouth, but he’s not arrogant—that’s what’s nice.
Some explorers get all elitist just because they have high mana affinity.
Who knows if he’ll start looking down on us regular folks if he keeps racking up achievements, though.

204 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

I mean, he and Tia supposedly suppressed two “Dungeon Stampedes” in S City by themselves.
What kind of achievement even tops that?

205 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

No official announcement yet, right?

206 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Nope.
Honestly, they probably don’t even understand what happened yet.

207 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

According to Tia, that scandal-plagued politician sealed the dungeon.
But then the question is—how?
Sasamori Takeshi is just a prefectural assemblyman, right?
Doesn’t seem like he’d have connections to the Dungeon Agency or anything.
Even if he did, how would you even make a dungeon disappear?

208 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Tooru-bro said “I don’t really get it either,” so yeah.
Either way, we’ll have to wait for the official report.
Damage was minimal, but  “Dungeon Stampedes” still happened.
And there’s suspicion it was man-made, too.

209 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

But why does making one dungeon disappear cause another one to appear somewhere else?
Or trigger a nearby dungeon to go into “Stampede”?
I mean, regarding the Stampede, the elf and Chizuru mentioned on Anthem’s stream that dungeons are probably magically connected, so that part makes sense.
But why would removing one make more appear?

210 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

It’s like those clipped videos of politicians’ gaffes.

211 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Nuke one and more pop up.

212 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

That’s been a theme ever since the “Chain Stampede” incidents.
Scholars have all been theorizing about it, but there’s still no definitive explanation.
Well, there are tons of hypotheses—just none that really stick.

213 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Seems like there’s no point in us trying to figure it out here.
More importantly, Tooru-bro and Mlady Kujou actually seem pretty compatible, don’t they?
After watching today’s stream and then rewatching Anthem’s, Tooru-bro seriously looked bored the entire time back then.

214 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Well, diving Kamiooka Dungeon with Anthem was probably at Anthem’s request.
Plus, they were basically asking him to help again after he’d already saved them from almost dying.
And Irselia kept picking fights with him for no reason. From his perspective, it probably wasn’t a fun job.

215 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

With M’lady, it was more like, “Dungeons are fun, so I’ll show you why.”
It was her stream, sure, but honestly anyone would fall for that—not just Tooru-bro.

216 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Not to bash Anthem or anything, but they’re doing it as official duty.
They can’t exactly go “Yaaay, dungeons are fun!” like M’lady.
They get antis cursing them on social media just for eating local food the day before, so they probably can’t say anything careless during a stream either.
Megumi especially is probably under a lot of pressure.

217 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Even as a regular viewer, I feel a kind of respect toward Anthem’s members.
They’re so young, yet basically what that scandal politician called “worker ants.”
Kids with exceptionally high mana affinity found during middle school dungeon training get taken in by the state, right?
Sounds like a work environment that’d make even special forces look tame.

218 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

How can something be blue and black at the same time?

219 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Tooru-bro didn’t seem to dislike the Anthem members—aside from Irselia.
More like he kept a bit of distance.
Still… he definitely didn’t look like he was having fun.

220 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

He looked like he was having fun today, though.
Never thought we’d hear “Let’s rock, baby!” come out of his mouth.
Peer pressure is scary.

221 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Think Tooru-bro’s gonna cringe when he rewatches the stream later?

222 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Honestly, yeah lol.

223 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

He’s basically a low-energy character most of the time.

224 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

But seriously, why is Tooru-bro so strong even fighting normally?
Tia said something about the Holy Sword’s blessing, but can a blessing really give you movement skill and guts too?
He seriously didn’t look scared at all.

225 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Hard to say.
But he was already dominating the upper floors of Sugai Dungeon before getting the holy sword and cursed blade, so it’s fair to assume he’s just good at using his body.
Still, his coordination with A-rank Reiko was impressive.

226 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Isn’t M’lady basically self-taught too?
I heard she learned the Jeet Kun—I mean Kujou-style Fist Way from DVDs1—well, at that point I’ve got no idea anymore.

227 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Reiko’s strength probably comes from endless real combat.
She’s likely entered dungeons more times than Anthem has.
You don’t become A-rank at nineteen for nothing.

228 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Her butler probably trained her fundamentals, though.
He’s B-rank as an explorer, but isn’t he actually stronger than her?

229 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

That said, I’ve never seen Jouichirou fight on her stream.
Honestly, just keeping up that energy as her butler is impressive enough.

230 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

The butler seemed to get along with Tooru-bro pretty well too.

231 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Honestly, the only reason he stood out was because he talked back to Irselia.
Isn’t Tooru-bro basically pretty quiet otherwise?
His lazy tone and attitude just make him come off worse than he is.
And what he said to Irselia was… well, pretty reasonable, all things considered.

232 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Do you think Tooru-bro is also a victim of a “Dungeon Stampede”?

233 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Seems pretty likely.
If his whole family is gone…
I mean… I wouldn’t say it’s common, but it’s not unheard of either.

234 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

When you think about it, there are warning signs of a Stampede somewhere every few years.
Each time, they scramble to deploy top-tier explorers and barely keep things under control.
Anthem coming to S City this time was officially for Stampede prevention, after all—and the dungeon actually had mutated, so the timing wasn’t bad… though everything else went wrong.
Honestly, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say our daily lives are maintained right at the brink.
There’ve been two Stampedes in the past five years alone.
Wait—three if you count this one.

235 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

All thanks to the explorers.
By the way, why didn’t Tia fight at all this time?

236 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

If a holy sword wielder steps in, even an estimated S-rank dragon gets crushed.
Would’ve turned a fun dungeon run into a sightseeing tour, so she probably held back.

237 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Also, Tooru-bro himself probably didn’t know how strong he was without the cursed blade.
Reiko mentioned it during the stream, but after that chain of battles since saving Anthem, even someone with low mana affinity should’ve leveled up a lot.

288 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon 2

Seriously, we owe the M’lady’s initiative big time.
She said on her stream that if she’d waited even a few more hours, all kinds of groups would’ve started approaching him.
Instead, she publicly broadcast to the whole world that he’d made contact with the “Kujou Zaibatsu heiress.”
That probably scared off a lot of opportunists. At the very least, anyone weaker than the Kujou family can’t just approach him now.
If that free-spirited young lady hadn’t suddenly decided in the middle of the night to dispatch a helicopter, we never would’ve gotten Tooru-bro’s dungeon stream.

289 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

So she watched Anthem’s stream and immediately hopped on a helicopter?
Absolute monster of initiative.

240 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

If anything, the butler who arranged that helicopter is the real monster.
I’m not a hardcore Reiko viewer, so I only knew bits and pieces, but…
Isn’t that guy basically a super-butler?

241 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

He literally dove into dungeons himself to qualify as an official escort so his underage mistress could enter safely.
Meanwhile, she hired outside escorts during that time to keep exploring.

242 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

LMAO.

243 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Thanks to Reiko, Tooru-bro now has a path as an exploration streamer.
But realistically, which is better—working for the government or a corporation, or going independent?

244 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Given his personality, independent explorer is probably better.
Plus, getting ties to the Kujou Zaibatsu is huge.
That “investment” from M’lady sounded insanely generous too.
We’re talking about a guy who one-shot monsters from a top-tier S-class “Dungeon Stampede.”
Who knows how many dungeon resources he’ll collect from here on out.
And with a holy sword wielder backing him, he could probably challenge even unexplored dungeons with ease.

245 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Well, it’s not exactly a simple story.
So far, he’s only explored simple-structured dungeons like Sugai or the now-vanished Kamiooka, but dungeons with traps exist too.

246 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

But keeping that kind of firepower as a corporate’s pet… nah.
And honestly, Anthem—the state project—didn’t do anything in S City anyway.

247 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

The whole idea of handling “things nobody really understands” with rigid bureaucracy was doomed from the start.

248 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

This is getting messy.
Let’s organize it a bit.

249 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

  • Info on the recent “Dungeon Stampede” is still pending official announcement.
  • Tooru-bro didn’t really understand it either.
  • According to Tia, Sasamori Takeshi supposedly made the dungeon disappear, but that wasn’t mentioned in the stream.
  • Reiko came to show Tooru-bro the fun of dungeon exploration.
  • She also invested in him to secure priority rights to dungeon resources.
  • Possibly, broadcasting that “Kujou Reiko and Tooru-bro made contact” discouraged anyone from bothering him?
  • With the goods Reiko invested in, Tooru-bro can now stream dungeon exploration. Might continue doing so.
  • Tia is positive on streaming and keeps us smiling.
  • Tooru-bro occasionally shows his softer side.

…That about cover it?

250 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

The Sugai Dungeon mutation too.
Even the butler said it—simple structure, yet monster grades rise consistently per floor.
Seriously, a dungeon with so much profit.

251 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Then Noumi Dungeon is probably mutated too, right?
Will Anthem go check it out?

252 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Who knows.
They’ve done nothing since coming to S City, and if they mess up in Noumi Dungeon, the project’s prestige would collapse.
Well, with Irselia there, I guess it’s fine to go in.

253 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Can S City survive this situation?
That meeting had the mayor, city councilors, and prefectural assembly members.
The governor wasn’t there, so negotiations with the Dungeon Agency probably go through that line?

254 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Hard to say.

As regular citizens, the best we can do is work and pay taxes properly.

255 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Don’t want to sound like a copy-paste, but…
I kind of want to watch Tooru-bro see this through.
He’s not exactly a classic hero type, personality-wise.
But somehow, I feel like he’s the guy who’ll just slash through everything in his path.

256 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

I get it.
Tooru-bro seems surprisingly naive about the world, so maybe even we could be a bit helpful.

257 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Looks like Anthem unicorns are wary of him, but haven’t outright attacked.

258 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Come to think of it, Tooru-bro didn’t really react when Reiko grabbed both his hands and was hopping up and down right in front of him.
Her πr2 were bouncing right in his face.3

259 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Lol, the way you said that.
Smells like an old man vibe.

260 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Hard to look at her that way with her character, but she really is beautiful.
Absolutely insane, diving into dungeons in a day dress, boots, and gauntlets, though.

261 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Bouncing is one thing, but that’s really full-on bouncing.

262 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Blessed!

264 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Seems like the butler intentionally controls the “service shots” to be within acceptable limits.
Well, under the day dress she’s wearing Nine Line leggings.
Still… that bouncing didn’t look like it had underwear support. I should check the Nine Line dungeon gear series.

265 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

I’m rooting for Tia-tan…

266 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Ten posts ago, we were just talking about watching Tooru-bro’s future unfold.

267 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

So much has happened since yesterday. Why are we talking about entering a post-Stampede dungeon with the Kujou Zaibatsu’s heiress less than twelve hours after suppressing it… bounce bounce.

268 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Witnessed the defeat of intellect.

269 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

At this rate, it wouldn’t be surprising if something happens again soon.

270 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Gotta keep an eye on this.

271 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

The age of this thread’s users is very apparent… bounce bounce.

272 Anonymous Trapped in the Dungeon

Lol.

  1. if it wasn’t obvious when it showed up, basically she watched Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do (截拳道) DVDs and altered the name (九条流拳道)
  2. not sure why the numbering is inconsistent here and there. maybe author typos.
  3. it’s a dumb joke/pun about Pi an Oppai (boobs)
